Today we look back on how movies now days have change a generations views on movies. This doesn’t pertain to all movies but a good bit. Anymore you have over the top action, violence and explosions in movies, which don’t get me wrong it’s freakin awesome but what has happened to good plot build up and execution. What I am getting at is how a movie was made “back in the day” for instance Ridley Scott’s Alien or better yet Blade Runner. The movie starts out slow and builds up to the plot and then in the last 45 or 30 mins. of the movie the plot plays out with the action sequences and blows your mind.
Then....
If you take a look at the movies today they all mostly focus
on hardcore action mixed in with explosions and then eventually a hint at a
plot then it gets lost and destroyed amongst the explosions and JONK! Hence
forth if someone born in the mid 90’s watches a movie from back in the day it
most likely bores them out of their mind and cannot keep their attention span
until the movie’s awesome action climax which it usually still doesn’t impress.
For example a person who was born around 1994 doesn’t
appreciate the cinematic greatness the old movies have to offer they would
rather see shit explode, which I don’t mind either. But if that person watches
the new Total Recall remake without ever watching the original and then try to
watch the original they will turn the original off half way through and never
get to witness what a gut alien has to offer *sigh*.
So what is this world coming to? No more plots? No more gut
aliens? WHY?????????????????????
